Multicultural Classroom Activities

Sharing Our Cultures is pleased to offer a Multicultural Classroom Activity for Grade 6 classes.

This session can be offered in person or virtually, in English or in French to fit your class needs. Each session includes a general introduction on culture, as well as activities, exercises and games to enhance students' active participation, in order to help them learn and reflect on the different aspects presented.

We have 4 topics available:

• Culture: Our environment
  Culture is influenced by the environment,  we will explore how the climate, landscape, natural resources, and raw materials can influence a culture.

• Culture: Our expressions
  People and groups have different ways to express their culture. We will explore examples of expressions such as music, dance, clothes, traditions, etc. from diverse cultures.

• Culture: Our contributions
  Everyone has something to contribute to the world. We will discuss different ways to contribute, and some examples of people from diverse cultures contributing to our province and country.

• Culture: Our Human Rights
  Learn about the importance of children’s rights, what it means and how it protects children.  We will also explore and discuss the rights and responsibilities as children.
